CAI Georgia Mission Statement

The Community Associations Institute (CAI) is a national, nonprofit 501(c)(6) association created in 1973 to educate and represent America's 205,000 residential condominium associations, cooperatives, and homeowner associations, as well as other related professionals and service providers. The Institute is the largest organization supporting community associations in the United States and is dedicated to fostering vibrant, responsive, competent community associations that promote harmony, community, and responsible leadership.

CAI is the nation's voice for condominium, cooperative, and homeowner associations. With over 17,000 members in 57 chapters throughout the U.S. and in several foreign countries, CAI advances excellence through seminars, workshops, conferences, and programs (see our Events Calendar). The Institute publishes the largest collection of resources available on community associations, including the award-winning Common Ground magazine. CAI advocates community association interests before legislatures, conducts research on innovations and best practices in community association creation and management, and provides networking and referral opportunities through both the national office and local chapters.

history of cai

The Community Associations Institute Georgia Chapter was formed in 1981. Our members include: condominium associations and homeowner associations, neighborhoods and association-governed communities of all sizes, individual home owners and providers of professional services and products for community associations. The Georgia chapter provides an on-going event calendar that offers both education and networking opportunities to our members, including an annual Legal Forum and ABC's Course; A Basic Course for Association Leaders! We also have community association seminars. This year, our chapter won national awards for our magazine, Georgia Commons, and our CAI-Georgia Golf Classic. Leaders within our chapter have won individual awards both on a local and National level for outstanding leadership and support to the organization. The Georgia Chapter, now considered a large chapter, exceeds 300 members and is growing every day!

Our members have access to an exciting array of educational programs, special events, and informative publications that include the following:

  • Educational Seminars for association board members and homeowners that provide valuable information on issues affecting associations.
  • The ABCs Workshop, a comprehensive training program for association board members and homeowners.
  • Community Association Trade Shows and Programs. This year we are excited to offer many new trade shows in conjunction with our homeowner programs.
  • Opportunities to network with other association leaders and professionals in the industry.
  • A Quarterly Magazine, The Georgia Commons, that provides up-to-date information on the operation of associations.
  • The CAI Service Directory features a complete list of service suppliers and professionals who work with associations. We have over 315 members and are growing every day!
