2019 BOARD

The Community Associations Institute of Georgia Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing the chapter's operations and helping the Chapter accomplish the purposes and objectives of both the national organization and the Georgia Chapter. The CAI Georgia Board of Directors works closely with its Executive Director and the Chapter Committees to ensure that goals and objectives are achieved.


Jannette Shockley, Esq.
Lazega & Johanson, LLC

Jannette is a partner with the law firm of Lazega & Johanson LLC in Atlanta. She manages the firm's community association collections department and specializes in community association and collections litigation. Jannette graduated summa cum laude from the University of Georgia with Highest Honors from the University of Georgia Honors Program. Jannette earned her bachelors degrees in Political Science and International Affairs and minored in French. She was admitted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society in 2007. Jannette then attended the University of Georgia School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor and graduated cum laude in 2010. She is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Georgia as well as being admitted to practice in the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Georgia Supreme Court. Prior to becoming a board member, Jannette co-chaired the CAI-Georgia tennis committee for the years of 2013-2014. She served as the secretary of the CAI-Georgia Board of Directors from 2015 to 2017. When not working, Jannette enjoys spending time with her family and her beloved Labrador, Robin. 

Vice President 
Kelley Moon

Kelley Moon is a native of Georgia and earned her bachelors degree in Visual Arts and Design from the University of West Georgia. She has been in Business Development with EPIC. for the past ten years, where she works directly with property managers and facility engineers in the high-rise condominium industry.

As an active member of CAI-Georgia, Kelley has served as the Committee Chair for the CAI Golf Committee as well as the Helping Hands Committee. In 2016, she helped spearhead the build of the CAI House through Habitat for Humanity. She currently serves as the Board Liaison for both the Fundraising and CAI Care Committees. Kelley was the recipient of the CAI-Georgia's 2014 Rita Kennedy Award.

In her free time, Kelley enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering for various charity organizations and experiencing the local arts.

President Elect 
Mike Crew, PCAM
Homeowner Management Services, Inc

Michael Crew is the President of Homeowner Management Services, Inc., a company providing management services to community associations for over 25 years. He holds the Certified Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) designation.  Mike is a Licensed Real Estate Broker in Georgia.

Mike has been active in CAI at both the local and national levels. For the Georgia Chapter of Community Associations Institute, Mike has served on the Board as Treasurer for two years, served on the Legislative Action Committee (LAC), has been the Program Committee Chairperson, served on the Manager Education Committee, been the Expo Co-Chairperson, and served on the Magazine Committee. Mike had been an educational speaker at CAVL classes and other programs as well as contributing to the Georgia Commons.

Mike has been honored by the Chapter, receiving the CAI Georgia - Rita Kennedy Service Award in 2012, the Leadership Award in 2009, and the Educator of the Year Award in 2008. Mike has been a Director, Treasurer, Secretary, and Chair of Finance Committee for The Foundation for Community Association Research. The Foundation for Community Association Research is a national, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization devoted to common interest community research, development, and scholarship. Incorporated in 1975, the Foundation supports and conducts research in the community, homeowner, and condominium association industry.

Additionally, Mike has served on the CEOMC Committee as a Member in 2009, 2010 and 2011. He has been a Judge for North Carolina Community of the Year award for five years, and a member of the Licensing Task Force of Association of Professional Community Managers (APCM). Mike holds a BS Engineering from the University of South Florida, and has held professional and management positions for several national and international corporations during his over 40-year career.

Amanda Evans, PCAM, 

Community Management Associates, Inc.

Amanda is a native to the Atlanta area. She holds the Certified Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) designation along with the Community Association Manager (CAM) designation. Amanda has worked for Community Management Associates as a Portfolio Manager for over 10 years.

Amanda is very active in animal rescue, enjoys traveling and loves to spend time with family and friends. She has served as the CAI-Georgia Social Committee Chairperson and is currently the Board Liaison for the Program Committee.

Lisa M. Turner, CMCA, AMS, PCAM
Silverleaf Management Group, LLC 

Lisa Turner, Founder and Broker of Silverleaf Management Group, has served in the community management industry for over 20 years both as a homeowner leader and a professional community association manager. She founded Silverleaf Management Group in 2009 after many years of professional community association management in the metro Atlanta area. She is a member of the local chapter of the Community Management Institute, CAI-Georgia, and is proud to serve the CAI-Georgia Legislative Action Committee since 2017. She  has served on the Georgia chapter's Magazine and Public Relations Committees, and chaired the Public Relations Committee in 2013 and 2014. She currently serves as President of the Board of Directors for Alliance of Community Association Managers (ACAM), a national organization dedicated to providing information and education for management company executives.

Lisa is proud to have achieved designations of Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA), the Association Manager Specialist (AMS) and the highest designation awarded by the Community Association Institute, the Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM). Lisa was first runner-up to the National Manager of the Year in 2013. Silverleaf Management Group earned the Accredited Association Management Company (AAMC) designation in 2016.

Lisa is a graduate of Berry College in Rome, Georgia, with a Bachelor's degree in Marketing. Lisa also holds a MBA from the University of Phoenix. Lisa is married to Joel, EMS Director for the City of Forest Park Fire Department and they have two children; Ashlyn, 15 and Jared, 10. The family resides on a horse farm in Monroe, Georgia.


Mike Dangler

Russell Landscape Group

Mike has lived in the Atlanta area since 1987. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Kathi and two sons, Griffin & Jacob (when they are home from college). He has strong passions for cooking along with playing tennis, and tries to find time to fit each one in every day. As an active member of CAI for over 10 years, he has chaired the Golf committee for the last two years and served on the Golf, Public Relations and Tennis committees in the past.  He was awarded the 2015 CAI Georgia President Award and is excited about contributing to the chapter as a member of the Board of Directors. 

Mike has worked in the Green Industry for over 25 years. With his position in Business Development, he heads up marketing for the HOA division of Russell Landscape Group. Mike has a strong passion for customer service.

Russell Estey


Russell was born in a small town about an hour from Boston, Massachusetts, but has spent most of his years in Georgia. He's the Vice President of Sales and Marketing at RooterPLUS! Plumbing and has been a member of CAI-Georgia for nearly 10 years. He's also an animal lover and has served on the Board of Directors for the Humane Society of Forsyth County.

As a volunteer of CAI-Georgia, Russell has served on several committees including Membership, Tennis and has also chaired the Public Relations committee. CAI-Georgia honored Russell as he received the 2017 Rising Star Award.

Russell currently lives in Cumming and was recently married. In Russell's very little free time, he enjoys concerts, sporting events, movies and spending time with his wife and children.

Jennifer Fournier
Homeowner Leader

Jennifer Fournier has been an active member of CAI-Georgia for the past 8 years and served on several committees during that time. She served as the Tennis Committee Chair for two years and the Programs Committee Chair for two years. Most recently, Jennifer was named to the Board of Directors as a homeowner leader and received the 2018 Doyle P. Jones Leadership Award. Jennifer is the Board Liaison for the CAI Spring Fling Event.

Jennifer has a background in Real Estate and Property Management and is currently a business developer in the Atlanta area. She was born in Norfolk, Virginia and raised in the East Cobb area of Marietta where she resides with her husband and 16 year old son. She enjoys playing tennis, cooking and spending time with family.

Joseph C. Larkin, Esq.
Lueder, Larkin & Hunter, LLC

Joseph C. Larkin serves as a litigation counsel for community associations of all sizes in all phases of civil litigation and alternative dispute resolution. Joe has participated in litigation involving community association law, premises liability, general liability, professional liability, construction defect, insurance, business litigation and real estate. Joe has been recognized as a "Rising Star" by Super Lawyers, which is a rating service of outstanding lawyers who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.

Joe is a Prelicense Instructor, certified by the Georgia Real Estate Commission, and is a member of the Georgia Real Estate Educators Association. Joe has participated as an instructor for CAI education committee, and has taught countless continuing education seminars for the industry. For many years, Joe has volunteered with CAI, serving as chair of the magazine committee and a member of the golf committee.

Joe graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor Degree in Business Management. As an undergraduate, Joe was a presidential scholar, was a member of the Management Honor's Fraternity, Sigma Iota Epsilon, and was a member of Phi Alpha Delta, pre-law fraternity. Joe earned his Juris Doctorate Degree from Georgia State University College of Law. While attending law school, Joe was Lead Articles Associate Editor for the Georgia State University Law Review, where he authored a Note and published two works of Georgia legislative history. Joe's primary area of practice is community association law, litigation and collections.

Bill Lucas
Homeowner Leader

Bill has been a successful entrepreneur and business executive for over 30 years in the technology, retail and automotive sectors. He has substantial experience in sales, marketing and operations and has built his career around innovation, common sense and logical business practices. He has always been a ground breaker, innovator and leader in new technologies but also strongly believes in preserving and learning from our past.

Bill has over 12 years of experience with community boards as well as being the chief architect of the fight against the City of Atlanta Watershed Department in 2009 leading to sweeping changes in that department with great benefit and relief to homeowners in the City of Atlanta. He was also instrumental in other counties and cities such as DeKalb County, Charlotte, N.C, Cleveland, OH and Birmingham, AL.  He attended York University and Centennial College, and completed his CAM and broker's licensing requirements with the Georgia Real Estate Commission. Bill has added numerous training courses and property management education throughout his career. He has been a commercial property owner and developer and has substantial experience in residential construction. 

Bill  has been playing ice hockey for over 50 years and reached the a professional level before an injury cut his career short. 

Darren Thurmond, CMCA, AMS, PCAM

Atlanta Community Services, Inc

Mr. Thurmond is the President and Founder, Atlanta Community Services, Inc. and has served homeowners in the community management industry for over 20 years. Darren formed Atlanta Community Services, Inc. (ACS) in January of 1997, after several years managing great associations. Over the past years, Darren has grown ACS to become one of the top association management companies in Georgia.

After completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering at Southern College of Technology, Mr. Thurmond continued his educational pursuits within the Georgia Real Estate Commission obtaining his Broker’s license and now serves as the qualifying Broker for ACS. Darren maintains the prestigious designation of Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM), the highest designation bestowed by the Community Associations Institute (CAI). Darren also holds the designations of Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) and the Association Management Specialist (AMS).

Over the years, Mr. Thurmond has successfully managed many communities with a variety of unique features. In addition to his management skills, Darren has marketed the management services for ACS as well as expertly trained other key personnel and managers in the community association management field. Atlanta Community Services continues to thrive under his leadership.
