Course Descriptions:

Dealing with Difficult Personalities
Instructor: Jessica Towles, CMCA, AMS, PCAM
Change is fundamental to our lives. So is chaos. There is good and bad change, there is good and bad chaos. The changes that we encounter in the association world today are in many cases, driven by forces beyond our control and beyond our scope of responsibility - yet they fall into our laps. Process management is a methodology that brings order out of chaos, a rhythm and beat to the daily grind and provides tools to make for more effective management.
Operational Calendar
Instructors: PCAM Property Managers
A panel of PCAM level managers will discuss hot topics that should be included in the operational calendar of managing associations for property manager for a given year. The main objective of the course is to present and discuss optimal strategies of proactive management as opposed to reactive management relative to specific core tasks managers must complete throughout the year of an association.

Teamwork and Leadership Development

Instructor: Jessica Towles, CMCA, AMS, PCAM
This presentation will focus on the roles of leaders within the community association model - Board Members, Homeowners, Community Managers and Business Partners. How does each group impact each of the other groups and how as the Community Manager, can we assist and guide this team to work hand in glove for the betterment of the association as a whole. Attendees will learn skills to help build upon their own leadership skills in addition to discovering ways to lift up and grow the leaders around them.
Meetings 101
Instructor: Industry Attorneys
A panel of lawyers will discuss issues relating to the various types of meetings and the various ways by which an Association's Directors and/or Membership can conduct business. The panel will discuss meetings ranging from the initial turnover meeting to annual meetings, special meetings and board meetings, how to call and give notice of those meetings and how business can be conducted at each. The panel will also discuss action taken without a meeting by written ballot or written consent, and how email or other electronic methods may be used.
